Definitely, go to your local library’s website and find out the details. Hoopla, Overdrive are two of the bigger vendors. Your local librarians can take you step by step thru the process.
I am in Australia, I wonder if this is the problem? I had to get a kobo to use library ebooks. My library told me it was a licenceing issue with amazon ?
It depends on the library. I once was able to, then our library switched from Overdrive to 3MCloud. I no longer can, so I drove to the next town over and got a card from them. Now, I am back in books!
Overdrive is the only vendor that fully integrated the kindle format. Great deal by its founder and Jeff Bezos. Other vendors do work on kindle that use an android platform like the Fire. As @Elizabeth said -talk to your librarian for all the details.
Yes 🙂 using Overdrive or Libby (same company) if your library participates.
Awesome! I’ll have to check, think I did it before prob with over drive to my iPhone! Thank you!!

Yes. As long as you have a library card.
Yeah my library uses Overdrive, I get books all the time.
On my Kindle app. But my mom has a Kindle Fire and she does it. Overdrive asks if you want to download the book to your Kindle account.
I borrow books all the time on my kindle paper white.

Yes.
Our library went from Overdrive to 3M… i like it!
You bet!
If you are in the US you can. Here in Canada you can’t.
I have to use a kobo in Canada
Usually. Depends where you reside and the library.
Sometimes. It depends on what system your library supports. I use the library’s app on my iPad, it works fine, but it’s not as versatile as a Kindle.
Overdrive, yes. Biblioteca’s (3M), only compatible Kindle device is the Fire.
Yup! They usually have magazines to download as well.
Talk to your library. They’ll be able to give you all the info you need.

Yes. It is called Overdrive. If the book is not available, it tells you how many holds there are
I use the Libby app to check out audio and ebooks from my library. I think Libby is much more user friendly than Overdrive.
Yes!
Just to add-on: cloudLibrary, oneclickdigital
Depends on your kindle model and your library
You can’t in New Zealand though 🙁
