5 years for the next book in series because I can just order the book online instead of waiting for the Library lol

Five years is just too long.. I will forget what I’ve read in the series unless each book stands alone.

Both are torture! After working in libraries all my life, I’ll stay true to my calling and say library.

As it is, I’m feeling the need to go back and reread books in series I know I read years ago, just to refresh my memory and be up for the newer titles.

Yes, you series writers out there – at least please make each one stand alone. I really hate to be kept hanging for a year or more…my memory’s not that good anymore, and it’s likely I will lose interest and never read the next one.

5 years for the next in series.
I read Gabaldon so 5 years is a relatively short wait ?

Yeah, she takes her time. Waiting for books 7 and 8 nearly killed me. Poor kid stuck in the tunnel…

Agreed.
But I’m glad she does.
I wouldn’t want any author to rush for fans and not give a book they were totally satisfied with.

I’m waiting on George R.R. Martin, that’s where my patience comes from.

Corinne

I will be surprised if he ever puts out the next book.

I have a lot of patience, I’ll wait for either.

I would say wait for the library loan. There are so many good books to read!

Wait 5 years. I can’t do the library. I just go out and buy the book anyway. Plus I don’t concentrate if I know i’m on a timeline to finish the book and return it.

5 years for the series. I don’t typically read best sellers.

I’d say the library loan… My TBR pile is big enough that I always have plenty to keep me busy!

Five years is a long time but some authors I am willing to wait for… In those cases, I just buy the book. I am lucky to know the circulation librarian well at my library so regularly get the bestseller releases very early on once they become available 🙂
