I tell of hearts and souls and dances…
Butterflies and second chances;
Desperate ones and dreamers bound,
Seeking life from barren ground,
Who suffer on in earthly fate
The bitter pain of agony hate,
Might but they stop and here forgive
Would break the bonds to breathe and live
And find that God in goodness brings
A chance for change, the hope of wings
To rest in Him, and self to die
And so become a butterfly.
Karen Kingsbury, Oceans Apart ????

Me too, it really hit me in the face when I read it and in the world full of hate we live in I think this quote means something!

I don’t want to read Go set a watchman because Harper Lee didn’t want to publish it when she was alive, and the fact they did it after her death is not fair… well, maybe I’ll change my mind because I’d love to meet all the characters again!

I can’t post all’the article because it’s too long, but it has been written on Bloomberg Business: What Does Harper Lee Want?
The author’s second novel, written before To Kill a Mockingbird, is the most preordered book in her publisher’s history. It’s also a book she vowed never to publish

I’m not going to try to comfort you,” Spangler said. “I know I couldn’t. But try to remember that a good man can never die. You will see him many times. You will see him in the streets. You will see him in the houses, in all the places of the town. In the vineyards and orchards, in the rivers and clouds, in all the things here that make this a world for us to live in. You will feel him in all things that are here out of love, and all the things that are abundant, all the things that grow. The person of a man may leave or be taken away but the best part of a good man stays. It stays forever. Love is immortal and makes all things immortal. But hate dies every minute.” William Saroyan, The Human Comedy.

“In tragedy and despair, when an endless night seems to have fallen, hope can be found in the realization that the companion of night is not another night, that the companion of night is day, that darkness always gives way to light, and that death rules only half of creation, life the other half.”
– Lightning by Dean Koontz

I know this is from a movie,’Ever After,’ but I do love this quote, because it is so true, “For if you suffer your people to be ill-educated, and their manners corrupted from infancy, and then punish them for those crimes to which their first education disposed them, what is to be concluded from this, but that you first make thieves then punish them?”

I can’t remember accurately, but I think she may have been quoting the book Utopia when she said that. Winner!

“So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they’re busy doing things they think are important. This is because they’re chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.”

Love is like a narcotic. At first it brings the euphoria of complete surrender. The next day, you want more. You’re not addicted yet, but you like the sensation, and you think you can still control things. You think about the person you love for two minutes, and forget them for three hours. But then you get used to that person, and you begin to be completely dependent on them. Now you think about him for three hours and forget him for two minutes. If he’s not there, you feel like an addict who can’t get a fix. And just as addicts steal and humiliate themselves to get what they need, you’re willing to do anything for love. – Paulo Coelho

I was in love with her, so deeply in love that I didn’t care if she was sick. I didn’t care that we wouldn’t have long together. None of those things mattered to me. All I cared about was doing something that my heart had told me was the right thing to do. In my mind it was the first time God had ever spoken directly to me, and I knew with certainty that I wasn’t going to disobey.
