Bookbub! They post free books daily. You can also search free books in the kindle store. Also get the OverDrive app. It will let you borrow books from your library. (Not sure if Pen Argyl is on there.) But I signed up with a card online from the free library of Philadelphia. They have tons of books on there!

Not all books. None by major authors. Most are self published. Or the first in a series.

I don’t know all on Prime reading, but I do know books like Harry Potter are available through that.

0
Amanda

True. I forgot about those.

Cathy

There are complete series on unlimited …and sometimes major authors too. Usually not new releases though.

If you have Prime, there is Prime Reading library, which has tons available to borrow!

I might get prime

In my opinion, that’s the way to go. Go to the Kindle store and check out Prime Reading. Then, you get the 2 day free shipping, access to Amazon TV, and it’s only $10.99/month, or 99.99/year!

I need to check out prime reading. I pay for kindle unlimited and prime

I did have the prime before but I canceled it right away…. Before I had my kindle

Freebooksy has about 30 free kindle books daily, but a lot of times they’re part of series where the rest of the books in a series aren’t free. You could always just search free kindle books (about 50k books) or a specific genre like free thriller kindle books, etc.

Definitely use your library. I get almost all my books from there. Also subscribe to Goodreads and book riots deals of the day for your preferred genres. They send you updates with 1-3 dollar books.

They don’t have a website at all? Weird. Some libraries even allow you to get a virtual library card if you’re only going to be borrowing e books

Julia

Free library of Philadelphia you do all.online to get the card….they’ll email you your card number. And it’s free even though we don’t live in Philadelphia

1
Kayleigh

Her library is super small, and patron funded!

Julia, make sure you don’t have to do anything with that. I have to reregister, told me my # was no longer valid.

1
Julia

@Kayleigh I re-register ed and now I’m good again until next year.

1
Kayleigh

I never knew about it until too late. I have to use OverDrive.

all set @Julia. I registered for a card online for free library of Philadelphia and got my card number already. yay, thanks !

1
Alexandra

@Rachel you may be able to do the same thing at my library (Nashville public library) as long as it’s just for e books. Might be worth checking out.

1
Julia

@Kayleigh it wouldn’t let you renew your card? It let me after mine expired….

JoDena

@Julia, do you have to do anything extra with the free library of Philly? I signed up last night for a card and I am super excited to put it to good use ?

1
Julia

No I think after you sign up ypu may just have to confirm when you get the number in your email. I had it a year and then had to renew it. But I love it!

1
Julia

And since we live in PA, it’s free for the card.

1
JoDena

Ok. I did verify my email last night with it. I know it read to show id when you first check something out but I’m not sure lol. I’ll have to look more into the ebooks

0
Julia

Ypu can then use it on OverDrive

2
JoDena

Gotcha!!! I’ll check it out! Thank you so much for your help

0
RachelQuestion author

Yes I already checked a book out on overdrive, I didn’t have to do a thing since my card number is saved in the system

2
Julia

You can also put books on hold…to be in line to borrow it.

2
JoDena

I did see that! I set up overdrive and we are good to go ? Ahhh I can’t wait to sit and look through the selections

1
Julia

There is soooooo much to choose from! Lol

1
JoDena

I know, it’s wonderful…. Lol definitely in book heaven!!

0
Kayleigh

@Julia, honestly, I never tried to renew.

0
Julia

It let me renew…and says now it’s good until next year.

Type in free kindle books and you will pull up thousands.

Usually when you get a new kindle…you get a tree month of kindle unlimited…so you have a full month to try it out. Then you can cancel…if it is not what you expect.

I just did this with the kindle app and I get 7 days free. Still cool to check it out though!

Katie

Not all. @Rachel I have it and use it for quick light reading. Something of fluff. I get my money’s worth I think but theres really nothing of substance available in unlimited
