That’s the genre.

I’m pretty sure all of her books are because she wrote in the crime genre.

Because she’s a crime writer

Because that’s the genre Agatha Christie wrote in. Lots of writers stick to a single genre, it’s not that strange.

Well, she did mainly write crime novels. However, she did publish some romance under the name of Mary Westmacott. Haven’t read them though.

What ?! No !
i’m serious by my question
and no one has given me a cinvincing answer

@Katia, are you asking “why she began writing murder mysteries”? I suppose the answer to that is she enjoyed mystery novels (Wilkie Collins and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle were her favorites) and was a writer, herself. Certainly, she wrote in other genres, but her mysteries remain some of the best ever written, so she was certainly justified in giving mysteries a try.

So the short answer would be: Agatha Christie’s books talk about crime because that was the genre she preferred.

And I’m not sure how we can be any more convincing: Literally, every answer is the same.

YES, Of-course!!!
It even seems that all her life was a mystery.
A mystery woman, as I usually call her!!!

Agatha Christie had been a fan of detective novels like Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes stories (they actually knew each other – Christie and Doyle) and Wilkie Collins’ Woman in White which probably influenced her. She was very interested in archeology, which I have always seen as a bit of a detective job myself because you’re finding old artifacts and piecing it together with information we already have in the world kind of like a puzzle. I think she just had a lot of joy writing crime and mystery, and she obviously had a lot of talent in the genre. 🙂

No problem! 🙂

Her second husband was actually Max Mallowan and she accompanied him on some of the diggings.

2
Heather

Oh man that totally sounds familiar. I did a report on her in high school ages ago so I only remembered that she was super interested in archeology!

1
Mekdes

She had been serving voluntarily on something similar to a detective job at a curious time of crime at its highest, and World War.
I guess that is why she wrote about it. I even sometimes imagine that some of her works might have been based on a true story which she herself had experienced.

I do not doubt she totally used some of her real life experiences for her books. She definitely used locations she went to for archeology in her books! 🙂

That’s kind of like questioning why dr. Seuss wrote in prose for children that’s just Agatha Christie’s genre and type of style that was her forte

And you can take a small road trip and visit Cadillac ranch. One suggestion, take your spray paint cans with you. What was there yesterday, will not be there today, and what is there today, will not be there tomorrow. Dang grafitti artists.
