@Rachel i think the film does it so much justice. Rewatched yesterday and made me cry all over again

I loved it so much, it is a fabulous read if you love books about WW2. Stick with it it’s strange to start out with but fantastic and emotional too.
One of my all time favourites. I found ‘death’s’ attitude comforting having recently lost my grandad before reading it
It’s an unusual book but probably the most beautifully written book I’ve ever come across. Theres just something about it.. I read it twice and the 2nd time I fell totally in love with it… I just think it’s amazing!!

I’m finding it hard going too, just coming to the end of part 1. Determined to stick with it though as I’ve heard great things about it
@Emma I’ve just this minute finished part one and feeling slightly better about it. Not quite as weird as it was at the start x
How are you getting on with it @Caroline? I’m just finishing part 2 and I’m starting to get the appeal of it now and enjoying it so much more
@Emma I’m at part 5 now. It does get better but still not sure about the way it’s written. Don’t think it’s gonna be one of my favourites x
First 100 pages difficult and then bam! Although I did put it down and restart it a year later. It is odd at the beginning
