I don’t hate any character. Hate is a strong word. But I dislike any character who 1. is a Mary Sue or has a strong tendency of becoming one. 2. Has too rigid sense of morality and honour

@Emily Because she is very whiny, annoying and selfish and thinks the world revolves around her. She expects people to give up everything for her but is not willing to do the same for them. I could list a ton more reasons if I wanted to.I really liked the plot and idea of The red queen but it wasn’t written well. Plus if you hate the protagonist, it is difficult to continue on with the story.
@Brooke I just hate every character. They don’t have redeeming qualities and you don’t want anyone to succeed. The main character is just an asshole. I didn’t even finish the book, I just couldn’t. I love a villain, but these characters were not even likable in a villain sense.

Tris was strong she knew what had to be done and she’d talk to Four and wanted his support and then he’d shot her down and then he’d be like oh you were right Tris. But Tris stayed true to her purpose, like ok great when you want to work together and whatever if you don’t ?. And at the end he was so broken, he was suppose to be strong too. ?♀️ oh and I hated Caleb too. Woulda rather he died instead of the heroine of the story
I’ve read two books now in the Red Queen serie and I think Mare is okay? I see so many people hating on her….it’s getting worse in the two last book right? 🙁

I thought I would couldn’t hate anyone more than I hate Umbridge in the Harry Potter series, but Zara Dearborn has topped her. I still go on crazy rants about her to this day and I read the book over a year ago.
I’d like to see Clary come along and kick her butt and then have accusations thrown against her, “Miss I’m the best Shadowhunter of My Generation”. I’d like to see her try to slander Clary as well. The hero of the Dark War, the one who saved their entire race. At which point, Zara and her father will have been in Alicante, being attacked by the demons. She would’ve been fighting and I would love to see her try to stand up to the girl who could easily put a Rune of Silence on her and leave it there for a few days, maybe even a few years, until she can be forced to undergo the interrogations herself and be forced to reveal the truth behind their absolutely awful schemes. They deserve to be put down like the racist monsters they claim the Downworlders are and have their Marks stripped, and their names stricken from Shadowhunter history. The worst punishment that can be dealt out. Edit-guess I went a little crazy again. Sorry for any spoilers contained in here.

I have no idea why and I feel really awkward because I don’t think we’re supposed to hate this character, but I really hated Archer from Fire by Kristen Cashore. Like hated him more than Voldemort – at least Voldemort was useful as a character.

Nesta…grrr. She was miserable. Elain was broody. Feyyyyrah was childish. Tamlin put more into it than I would have. Would like to throw them all in the cauldron and take Rhys home.. Every girl needs a High Lord like Rhys. His crew was cool, too.
She was pretty selfish IMO. And I hated how she kept leading that other guy (whose name I can’t remember) on when she shouldn’t have? I’ve only read up to the second book though.
@Jai Ik. I hated how she behaved with Ian too.Having read all 4 books, I would suggest you complete the series. Ryiah and Ian resolve their differences. An incredible plot twist is coming up. Ryiah really grows as a character. And the ending is very bittersweet. Plus if it doesn’t spoil much, Ian also gets a happy end. Kind of.
