Molly Weasley is one of my favorite fictional moms. Favorite non fiction mom is Orville and Wilbur Wright’s mother..worst fictional mom would have to be Carrie’s mom..and worst non fictional mom woyld be Jane Russell..Mommy Dearest is a classic how NOT to do motherhood.
I love/hate Joan Crawford in Mommy Dearest. She was hands down the worst mom ever. However I do give her credit for one thing. She barely left the twins anything when she died. Christina Christopher got nothing and later on years after the book, Christina said it actually taught her that money must be earned not just given out. Still awful person in general, but I’ve seen a lot of people lately that are losing parents and get upset at the money they end up with.
A Boy Called It may or may not be true. A reporter did research and he couldn’t find any records or reports. After the reporter started questioning the guy stopped giving interviews and now he’s making a movie based on the book. The ex wife said it was all true then said no then said yes and now won’t talk.
Least favourite mother in fiction: Gladys Eysenach. Honestly, everyone should read Jezebel by Irene Nemirovsky and see just why I hate this woman so much. The sad thing is, there are women that are like her in the world. Favourite mother: Aliénor d’Aquitaine from Sharon Kay Penman’s works. She was a real historical figure, but I love her in fiction because you get to see her come to life more. The relationship she has with John is something that I like. He’s the black sheep and is trying to get the throne of England from underneath her and her son Richard, but she loves him fiercely because she tries to save him from himself.

Mommy Dearest is playing on tv right at this moment…the wire hanger scene!! ??
Its been 30 years since i read it..maybe longer. I probably should revisit it..as a pep talk, ” see, you didnt do THAT!”
@Vicki I just read that recently. Shocking ?
The mother in Flowers in the attic
Definitely!
@Paula I just want to jump into the book & strangle her lol
Yes!
and feed her powdered donuts ??
Oh yes!!!!
Cathy/kate in East of Eden is a real piece of work.
Mrs. Weasley was the first to pop into my head for a good one
Snow-white’s step mother was cruel… She deserved having to dance through her step-daughter’s wedding in flaming hot iron shoes
Molly Weasley from the Harry Potter series. She is my favourite.

Molly Weasley managed to be loving, firm, and fun too..no matter how frazzled she was.
Favourite Ma ~ Molly Weasley, especially when she takes on Bellatrix ~ brilliant!
Non favourite Ma ~
The Ma from ‘A Boy Called It’, what’s worse, it was true, what a horrible person she was!?

Least fav mom, Stella from the In death books. Don’t really have a fav.
I don’t usually read books with moms in them, but I hold this animosity towards the woman that left Homer Wells with Dr. Larch and the nurses.
I finished reading Beloved today… that was kind of a crazy one for Mother’s Day
Molly Weasley is my favorite, Cersei Lannister Baratheon is my most hated!
Natalie Prior in Divergent is one of my faves.
