I’m also a big fan of H. Rider Haggard’s work, particularly his Allan Quatermain series, which kicked off with “King Solomon’s Mines.” His lost civilization adventure stories have, along with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s “The Lost World,” have inspired tons of adventure fiction.
