Who has read Room? Would love to hear other people’s thoughts. I can’t stop thinking about it 2 books later which for me is a sign of a great book!

Brilliant book – took a while to get used to the writing style….could not put it down!
It was such a good read … What amazed me was how the reintegration into society was portrayed and how difficult it was to do …. Something I’d never thought about.
Yes l read it a few years ago, still stays in the memory.
Brilliantly written, emotional book definitely worth reading .
Very thought provoking book that will always stay with you. We Need to Talk About Kevin is another book I’ve read that I feel the same way about.
@Anne I thought that bit was done very well. When I hear these horrific stories of people being ‘found’ after years in ‘captivity’ I have never really thought about the reintiegration in to society.
I read it awhile back and it has left a lasting impression.
Still with me over three years later one of my most memorable reads, quite upsetting content
Meltedy spoon. Fantastic book
Excellent book
It stayed with me for a long time too, made me very emotional definitely a good read
I’m glad I read it before I had a little one. read it for a book club and didn’t expect to enjoy it because of the subject matter but thought it was very clever, well-written and thought provoking.
Loved it, very clever
One of few books I read in one fell swoop. I could not quit reading I was so enthralled. I downloaded it at dusk and read late into the night to finish. I think it is an excellent novel.
Just read “Daughter” another thought provoking read beautifully and descriptively written
Who is it by Emma?
Hi Debra Emma donoghue x
Thanks Emma – another one for the list… Paul won’t be happy with me having my nose stuck in the kindle again, I’ve given myself a rest for a few days 🙂
Awesome book!
Now that you brought it up, it’s with me all over again
@Debra your nose won’t be stuck for too long as you’ll prob read it so quickly!
I was the same, it has always stayed with me. I always recommend it.
Following
couldn’t get into it
I read it and certain phrases stuck with me throughout… Especially at the end (won’t add any spoilers!), I think the author did a good job of trying to really make the child’s thoughts credible…
Great book!!
LOVED it
I enjoyed it
Absolutely excellent Read it over a year ago and still think about the story.
Thought provoking and stayed with me for ages too!
And Laura, did u read Irvin Yalom?
I read it two years ago and it stayed with me since. Such a great read
Hi @Ali – ‘The man who mistook his wife for a hat’ lured me in again, but I’ve got ‘Love’s executioner’ on my kindle. Just taking a sneaky peek at the prologue now x
Our book group read it last year. Unanimously the story stuck with us and was well written from the wee boy’s viewpoint
One of my all time favorites! Stays with you long after you are finished reading!
Loved it too.
I didnt much care for it
Loved it x
I loved it -riveted from start to finish 🙂
I couldn’t get into it
Very good
same here..heartbreaking but so beautifully written
I thought it was great but it stays with you and is quite a harrowing tale when you examine it
Loved it…making a movie
I sometimes forget books I have read, but Room I haven’t. I found it disturbing yet very clever.
Struggled at first bv ended up loving it
myself and my two sons read it . Hard at times, emotionally but wonderful gripping book – read in a day as could not put down x
I think it is marvellous in its innovative use of narrator and the sheer brilliance of its understanding of the consequences of the situation in which the narrator is put post The Room. Hope this isn’t a spoiler.
Loved it.
It was good, definitely one that had me thinking about it long after I was done.
