Who has read Room? Would love to hear other people’s thoughts. I can’t stop thinking about it 2 books later which for me is a sign of a great book!

It was such a good read … What amazed me was how the reintegration into society was portrayed and how difficult it was to do …. Something I’d never thought about.

Very thought provoking book that will always stay with you. We Need to Talk About Kevin is another book I’ve read that I feel the same way about.

@Anne I thought that bit was done very well. When I hear these horrific stories of people being ‘found’ after years in ‘captivity’ I have never really thought about the reintiegration in to society.

I’m glad I read it before I had a little one. read it for a book club and didn’t expect to enjoy it because of the subject matter but thought it was very clever, well-written and thought provoking.

One of few books I read in one fell swoop. I could not quit reading I was so enthralled. I downloaded it at dusk and read late into the night to finish. I think it is an excellent novel.

I read it and certain phrases stuck with me throughout… Especially at the end (won’t add any spoilers!), I think the author did a good job of trying to really make the child’s thoughts credible…

Our book group read it last year. Unanimously the story stuck with us and was well written from the wee boy’s viewpoint

I think it is marvellous in its innovative use of narrator and the sheer brilliance of its understanding of the consequences of the situation in which the narrator is put post The Room. Hope this isn’t a spoiler.
