Ignite Me. Book 3 in the Shatter Me trilogy by Tahereh Mafi. I’d be done already if it wasn’t so intense. I keep having to put it down and walk away and breathe!!!!

I’ll probably dip back into my A Cabinet of Medical Curiosities tonight! The next chapter is about lousy plagues???

that sounds good – who is the author? If you like medical stuff, I recommend My Stroke of Insight by Jill Bolte Taylor.

Ooooh, I’ll have to check it out! Jan Bondesen wrote the book I mentioned. It’s very dense, which is why I’ve been reading a chapter or two every book or so I read. It’s about the historic basis for medical legends like spontaneous human combustion–collected anecdotes and an exploration of what they have in common plus what might actually be going on. A friend saw it in a bookstore and thought of me, which might be worrying, lol, but it is undoubtedly in my wheelhouse!

will look for it – thanks! Dr Taylor is a Harvard prof of neurology who had a devastating stroke, knew what was happening, and wrote about her stroke and recovery – a great book for anyone who has had or has a family member who has had a stroke.

YES! I heard about this book! Thanks for reminding me it needs to go on my wishlist! It sounded great in the way medical narratives by Oliver Sacks are great!
