Got caught red handed. I was a librarian and will always be one.
That’s awesome! I plan on becoming one. I’m currently studying to be a teacher and work at my university’s library.
@Erin Wonderful. Librarians are my kind of people. I loved the challenge of getting teenagers interested enough to take out a book and read just one chapter. If they trusted me, I definitely got them hooked. My most successful exhibit all year was the Banned Book display every September. I even made a list of all the banned books. Wanna guess which books flew off the shelves?
I’m going to guess books like “To Kill A Mockingbird”?
@Erin Yep, and I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, and Bluest Eye, and Huckleberry Finn etc, etc. It’s quite a list.
I’m not surprised, actually! Those books are great books and everyone should read them at least once. I’m really excited for the day I finally get to be an actual librarian and shove (nicely) books into people’s hands. I did that a lot in high school, even to non-readers But, they always thanked me afterward. Well, most of them did, anyway (apparently it’s possible for someone to NOT like Harry Potter). ?
I have made my screensaver out of hundreds of gorgeous library pictures. I never get tired of them.
