I have been wanting to read it, after hearing a lot of my friends say it is an awesome series. But, sadly, I haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. 🙁

I don’t think its actually that underrated IMO. Its a very popular vampire series. I still see tons of people recommend it often, even though its quite an old series. I think people just tend to speak loudly about recently published books. And fae books are the new vampire fad of the early 00s. But if you posted asking for a good vampire book/series, or about favorite series in general, a lot of people repeatedly recommend it.
That being said, I also enjoyed it when I read it years ago and would be one of those many people who would recommend it.

My second favorite series! Dimitri Belikov is my favorite heartthrob ❤️ haven’t read Bloodlines though. I kind of want to preserve the last few Romitri ?

Kristen

You should totally read the Bloodlines spinoff! Romotri stays strong! (and you get to learn SO many things left unspoken from VA)

But Adrian…..girl…..you need to know his story and why so many people absolutely adore him! I loved VA, but I think I loved Bloodlines more tbh.

0
Tasha

@Kristen I loved Adrian, but I could just never see him and Rose. Tbh I think he was the pity date for her. Even from the beginning you could just tell Romitri was it and they just clicked ❤️

1
Kristen

The Bloodlines spinoff doesn’t pair up Rose and Adrian. It does expand a bit on the aftermath of that relationship, but you get to see Adrian’s own story fold out and it is just EPIC. You also get to read more about Rose and Dimitri (and their future?).

I loved the movie, yet to read the books. I felt for sure that Rose and Lisa were gonna get together because of their bond and how well they were together. Dimitri was just a bit weird for my liking. But this is based off my opinion for the film.

Cheyenne

@Taylor-Kita yeah he is old in the film he is written much differently in the book, they’re definitely worth a read

1
Taylor-Kita

Yeah I need to buy them first or get the ebook. Its defo on my book bucket list.

I have done the same.. I have to wait until I can read them.

It’s not underrated, it’s just old. ??‍♀️

2
Reply
Janisha

@Pamela Why are you so angry? The first book came out in 2007. It had its moment. It was super popular and then other books came. ??‍♀️ I love the series and Richelle Mead is a goddess among men, but you have to be realistic.

0
Pamela

Okay I’ll try to be respectful. I didnt comment for a reason, but since you asked…
It’s an unrealistic opinion and reason. The Bible is old. Shakespeare is old. Harry Potter came out before 2007 and is still popular.
So I found it to be completely and utterly ridiculous.

Im buying it now! Is it a reverse harem? I see a few comments with multiple male character names

1
Reply
Shreya

@Tenaj It’s one of the best stories you’ll read… You’ll like each of the boys here

0
Tenaj

So it is a RH? I love RH so I’m totally down lol

1
Lucy

it isn’t a RH unfortunately but it doesn’t make the book any worse

1
Lise

Can I ask what RH is? (reverse harem but what does it mean?)

1
Shreya

@Tenaj It has many men vying for a girl but it’s not that light a novel…. It has deep themes…

2
Shreya

@Lise reverse harem (plural reverse harems) A group of someone’s boyfriends and/or husbands in a polygamous household. A genre of anime and manga in which a woman is the love interest of three or more men.

3
Lise

Thank you !!!!!!!!!!

1
Tenaj

@Shreya sounds like my cup of tea! Thank you 🙂

1

@Tenaj You’re welcome… Do read

I bought the last book years ago thinking it was the first ? I’m not a huge fan of vampires but I want to get into this series anyways

2
Reply
Shreya

@Jessica It’s not solely about vampires

1
Jessica

Then maybe I’ll like it then! What other creatures/fantasy elements are included?

0
Lise

I didn’t like Vampires either, but then I read the books and I loved the characters for who they are, my love for the series has nothing to do with the vampires really, they were just necessary to make the story, you should really read the books, you’ll love them !!!!!!

1
Lise

@Jessica magic, the 4elements + spirit in the original series, in the spin-off (bloodlines) there is also human magic, as for creatures, it are just 3 kinds of vampires, humans, and psi-hounds (of whom I still think are just regular dogs), so no werewolfs or all that stuff

0
Jessica

@Lise hmm I’m going to try out the series now, thank you ?

My mom introduced me to Vampire Academy, when only the 4th book was published. I read the first two books in the same night even though I was suppose to have gone to bed. I was obsessed!!! I still get thrilled everytime I read them. Really is my favorite book series.
