Love, love, love Beverley Cleary. She is responsible for my love of reading along with a very astute and accommodating librarian at the children’s library when I was around 7-8 in the late 50’s. I wish that I had contacted Ms Cleary while she was still alive to let her know. I was a generation too early for Judy Blume but I did read Are You There God last year. Books sure evolved a lot from one generation to the next. ?

Takes of a 4th grade nothing, blubber, tiger eyes. I also remember reading some of her adult titles as a teenager. They were kind of risqué.

Loved Ramona. One year in elementary school I dressed up as Ramona for character day. Wish they would bring all the things back from when I was a kid back.
