I adore horror! I’ve seen the stand mini series because my mother was obsessed with it when I was younger.
The Stand, Bag of Bones was good, and i really liked Tommyknockers as well!

It’s been a long time but I remember rally enjoying Nightmares and Dreamscapes, a collection of short stories. Like someone else said, just pick one and start. Hard to pick a favorite because although he is a horror writer some of them do t really fall into that category. Good luck!

When I look back over all the Stephen King books I’ve enjoyed – I have to go with the Stand also
Cujo. And if you’re interested, his books under his pseudonym, Richard Bachman are amazing. My favorite is Blaze. In my opinion it’s better than Cujo.

The first Stephen King book I read was Salem’s lot, he had me, hook, line and sinker. But his books vary, same genre? Yes, but there’s nuances in each that makes them all unique. Needful things is a great book, and if you have managed to avoid watching the tv series, under the dome is pretty awesome, 11/22/63 spins you every which way, and if you like short stories, you can’t go wrong with “the mist”. Talk about a kid in a candy store, how do you pick just one?
Misery is my fav. But I also really loved Dolores Claiborne, and Gerald’s Game. Also a big fan of The Dark Tower series.

Everything’s Eventual by Stephen King. It’s a book of 14 shorts that creep me out every time I read it.

Gerald’s Games creeped me out…but I liked it!
Rage is exceptional but he pulled it due to not wanting to influence people like Columbine, which happened shortly after, so it is hard to find.
I found it in one of the book of stories he wrote as Bachman:)
There are many great ones, but The Stand is a favourite of mine. Also the Talisman written with Peter Straub is excellent. But there are, as I say, lots of great ones.

I adored the Dark Tower series. The Gunslinger is different from his more “typical” stories but so worth it.

That would definitely be a very long list for me:). My first ones were langoliers then pet cemetery and Carrie, and after that I just got addicted! Green mile, Shining, it, bag of bones, thinner, under the dome, 11/22/63, dr sleep, and so many more I can’t even remember them all :).

Any of them really, I like his short story compilations. Big driver in full dark no stars was my favorite

Christine or the Dark tower series. Christine simply put is a haunted killer car and the dark tower series is a fantasy series. Which you might read Tower before the movie comes out. I’m super excited for it

The Stand is my favorite but it’s very long. If you want a shorter book try Christine or Cujo. Pet Cemetery is good too.
