I enjoy both but Game of Thrones is so dense and long that l will pick up any Sarah J Maas book first.

It’s definitely a personal preference. TOG is YA, and GOT has some heavier themes. I’m a fan of both, but I’m an epic fantasy junkie so for me it’s GOT every time.

I’m pretty sure Hodor could write a better fantasy series than SJM

They’re incredibly different. TOG is much better in terms of romance, pacing, as a book you can understand, relevance to teen and YA readers, and publishing schedule by a landslide (the last book comes out THIS September, 2018). It’s a series where you know good will triumph, and there’s a lot of satisfaction in that. You’re unlikely to forget any of the characters, either.

It’s hard to compare the two because they are totally different styles of writing. I haven’t finished game of thrones series but that is more to personal time constraints with school and because those books are ginormous. But I loved the throne of glass series.

Completely different series. Game of Thrones is such a massive world with such rich history, cultures, and religions that feel so tangible. And the characters are all complex and have their own histories and motives. It covers a variety of themes and can be extremely dark at times but is also so witty, clever, funny, enticing, sad, strategic, and just so good lol. The foreshadowing is so subtle, and the show is JUST as good, which is very rare in my opinion. I’ve tried to read Throne of Glass a few times and I just cant get into it.

Also, from reading the whole Song of Ice and Fire series and then reading Throne of Glass, Martin’s world is more fully developed and mature. Throne of Glass felt, to me, like a love story with a side plot.

A Song of Ice and Fire is by far way better and it can’t be compare with other epic fantacies. Just google the ASOIAF wiki. Happy reading.

They aren’t really comparable since GoT has heavy themes and the world building is just wow, while ToG is a YA fantasy and romance.

Game of Thrones is far better than any YA I’ve ever read. Ever.

Game of Thrones / Song of Ice & Fire, by far. Its depth and complexity is in a similar vein to J.R.R Tolkien, Steven Donaldson, Barbara Erskine. YA can’t compare.

They’re way too different to compare. Throne of Glass is YA while A song of ice and fire is for way more mature audiences.

Honestly it depends what you like. If you’re into really detailed and descriptive books then Game of Thrones but if not Throne of Glass

I don’t think of Throne of Glass as YA either. I’d say it’s more like new adult
