It varies.

Either. I do prefer a book though when I read long fantasy books and they have a huge glossary of characters and places. However, I love my Kindle and read mostly on Kindle.

I’m finding that I prefer a soft cover book. It’s lighter weight, easy on the eyes and I can resell it or donate it when I’m done. I also like that I can easily see my progress.

I find now I prefer reading on a device as it’s easier to read in low light and I can make the font bigger (aging eyes).

E-device. Use both my phone and a tablet (Kindle).

A book. But buying on a Kindle is cheaper. Can never wait for the library and second hand book shops are sometimes expensive too.

I love holding a real book ! … but, I mostly read on my Kindle. Everywhere I take it, I’m carrying over 50 books ! … so, I always have something to read to fit my mood ?

Book. Love all the sensations. The smell of the pages, especially if it’s old. The weight of it in my hand. The ease of flipping back and forth. I like to see my progress by the pages on either side of my bookmark. And I especially love reading a book from a used bookstore when I’m traveling. I love thinking about the person before me have the same experience I’m having now. I especially love it when I’ve found a used book that someone has underlined or notated.

If I’m home I read books. If I’m out I take my kindle, I also use my kindle for night reading before bed so then I can just read till I fall asleep and don’t have to worry about the light being left on

Or a heavy hardcover hitting me in the face when I crash. That hurts!

I love both for different times and reasons. The lighting and dictionary feature on Kindle…? I still love turning real pages so when I really love a book I like to have both, plus audio. ? When I can find old favorites or wishlist titles in thrift stores or used book stores, I grab them due to the cheap price. *Euphoria*

Preference doesn’t matter, and it shouldn’t. If the story is good, you will be lost in it. If the medium is a distraction, then it isn’t right for the particular reader.

A book. And I have that habit of smelling books before I buy them, just to make sure

A book! I have tried and tried my kindle and only successfully finished 2 books on it. I am addicted to the feel of paper, the smell of a book, and the way the cover bends(I dislike hardcovers). Reading is a tactile experience for me.

I read both… have books but also many e-books. So I don’t know. I think e-books don’t create the mess sometimes. Neither they occupy too much space. I tend to donate my books and use the library a LOT coz I tend to prefer the minimalist lifestyle. 🙂 x

Holding a book. But for convenience sake, I use my Kindle.

I have embraced technology for this one. I enjoy the lightweightness of the kindle. I enjoy not trying to hold the book in place. I enjoy one touch page turning.
I do hate being so engulfed in the novel and having ‘charge battery’ pop up but I usually read in my house so I am always close to an outlet.

Both. If it’s a really great book, I’ll buy a copy for my shelves. But ebooks are so convenient. I have a trip coming up, and I really wouldn’t give up my notebook for a hard copy!

When I commuted by train to work, I loved my Kindle- there was always another book to read when I finished one! Now I love my Kindle at night because it has light and I can read and not bother my husband. Probably like many of you- I would rather read than sleep! But I mix it up- books and Kindle

I love holding a book more than an electronic device but the electronic device gives me instant access to thousands of titles…

These days I prefer an ebook. I like the nightlight (built in on my Paperwhite), the lightness of the device and mainly the adjustable font size. I keep bumping the size up!

That’s great that you enjoy paper books. But it’s just as awesome that some people prefer reading ebooks.

Both. Backlit devices are great, but there is something about actually turning a page, the heft, the emotions that books bring…
