There’s a used bookshop here in my town that will give you store credit for books. What they don’t take will be donated. But never to Goodwill! They donate to shelters and daycares.

The best suggestion I ever received for book donations: nursing homes. They are often forgotten.

I always donate to my nearest mental health center. When you’re in there, there’s literally nothing to do so donating books gives them something :)))

One of my local libraries has a bin outside that I usually put all my donated books into.

My local schools. Not many people know that schools will take any books in decent condition, that are age appropriate. I worked at a title 1 last semester, and am building my own classroom library. I can say from experience they will be appreciated!

I use the library for 95% of my books and I only buy hardcover new releases by authors I love like Stephen King, Kristin Hannah, Jeffery Deaver, Ellen Hopkins, and Jodi Picoult. I have some family members that I lend some of them to also and when they return it to me, I donate it to the library.

Books for Africa! It is an absolutely amazing organization and the books donated are put to good use. BFA does their best so that a child will have access to reading!
