I have no idea. Two ladies are doing a girls night through Skype one is in Cincinatti, one in Chicago. One steps away from the computer to go check on her kids and the other sees a man walk in with a mask on and calls the police. Her friend never calls her back, just sends a text that everything is okay, she hops in the car and drives all night from Chicago to Cincinatti, all for her friend to act like nothing happened. WTF!?!?!?!?

Just got done reading a biography about Janis Joplin, written by her sister, which, incidentally, you can get free on kindle right now. Anyway, I got depressed. Isn’t is strange how you can love someone so much that you can still feel like crying after they’ve been dead for 50 years. I think that was the saddest part is realizing she’d been gone that long, fading into obscurity.

2
Reply
Tracy

@Diana, I read a lot of biographies and that happens to me all the time.

3
Diana

Some of them are so sad. At least she received love in her life and didn’t die not knowing how much she was loved.

3
Diana

Now I’m depressed again. I need to read something funny.

2

2
Anupama

@Riina Totally agree. And I am so into Japanese literature after bring introduced to Murakami.

2
Riina

@Anupama Do you have some tips for other great Japanese writers with similar style??

2
Paula

@Riina I love Haruki Murakami, I have the last line of ‘The Wind Up Bird Chronicle’ tattooed on my arm x

Riina Luttinen You could try Banana Yoshimoto(Kitchen) , Yoko Ogawa , Natsuo Kirino(Read a thriller called ‘Out’: Mindblowing) , Kanae Minato, Hiro Arikawa (The traveling cat Chronicles), Sayaka Murata (Convenience store woman). Keigo Higashino for thrillers. Ryu Murakami for surreal but darker shades of surrealism.
