I have a moldy dank sprawling used bookstore on the outskirts of my city that sells a BAG of used roughly used paperbacks for $5!
Also nice books limited editions in the climate controlled area.
I walk into a time warp and hours have dissolved when I finally walk out! ????

These are all the legal ways I know.

Bookpub and freebooksy send you emails daily with free books or super cheap $.99-$1.99 for ebooks. The fussy librarian and robin reads, does this as well.

Amazon, kindle, nook, iBooks, androids have google play that have ton of free ebooks.

Libraries have Overdrive and hoopla and other platforms for free ebooks.

There is a web page called http://openlibrary.org/, that you can download books.

5 mile, Craigslist, offer up, let go, and Facebook market place, you can get free or cheap books.

Half price books you can get books for under $3.

Freecycle is sort of like Craigslist but everything is free.

Libraries sale books for $.25-$2

Garage sales and thrift shops have books as well.

Some schools and colleges have free books in their hallways or buildings, it’s a take one free give one free type of deal.

Dollar stores and general stores have cheap books.

Walmart and Costco and sams have great deals on books but do cost about $5-$8 but for new releases that’s good prices.

Join swap, buy, sell pages here on Facebook and swap/sell your books for other books.

Put in for giveaways.

Sign up to review books. Heard about this never did this.

Book outlet and thrift book are good web pages to order books, and have them sent to you for super cheap.

Library, goodwill, garage sales, and local thrift stores. Overdrive app with the library for ebooks and audio. Kindle first for a free book a month. I also use http://paperbackswap.com/ a lot. Trade with others and all books are free. You just have to pay postage when you send any of your books to others.

I haven’t figured out Overdrive’s Audiobooks, yet. I do get Kindle boos through Overdrive through my library system.

0
Carôle

I don’t think that Overdrive is immediately user friendly, I’m sure that it could be far more straightforward in its layout and manageability, but I simply put in ‘audio books’ in the search bar and it throws up all the audio books that they own in their library. I’ve listened to 15 books since I joined via the App, which I would have paid dearly for via Audible.

I also have a subscription with Kindle Unlimited, where I can also obtain ‘free’ audiobooks – also not easy to access, harder than Overdrive – but free audiobooks are part of my mission in life! ?

If you download the app OverDrive, you can set up an account through your public library. You just need to provide your library card number and password (for an account) and then everything is fair game and free! They have audio books as well as books to read online at no charge – only downfall is the amount of time they’re rented out to you, but hopefully you can find use from it or renew them!

I get lots of free Kindle books from Amazon. Often the first book in a series is promoted to attract new readers, or a book is promoted for a limited time. Some are great, some less so but it means I never run out of books because I always have a few spare freebies 🙂
