I write all my tbr books on strips of paper and fold them into little stars. Then I pick them out of a jar and read whatever it says ^-^

I do the same but I put my hamster inside the box with all the stars and see which one she picks so it’s completely unbiased xD

I started several different books and found some not very interesting and decided to read them later on. I just kept reading the 1st couple chapters of some books til I found one I wanted to read more and more of.

I either pick a random one from my bookcase or pick one out of my tbr jar (I write 20 books down on pieces of paper, fold them up write numbers on them and pick one out when I’m unsure of what to read next)

I find it hard to choose but there’s usually always one that seems to be shouting for me so I go with that one

Depends on my mood, I guess. When I feel like staying on the real world, I read nonfiction. When I want to escape reality, I read fantasy. When I want to blush, I read romance. When I don’t feel like giving a ****, I pick a random book from my tbr pile.

I try something from each genre tilli find something that draws me in. I know I’m in a mood for something, and I get into a slump not knowing so I try books from like fantasy, not getting into it, so I try another genre. Contemps usually work fore

Honestly, I usually use the dates they are due from the library to decide what order to read them in.
I’ve also been doing a couple of “reading challenges” where I use the books I own to fill different prompts. I forget what I have sometimes so this forces me to read the blurbs and find out what will work.

@Tricia I do this too! I refuse to buy books because the library is such a great resource and I read them based on what’s due back first.

Whatever I’m in the mood for. I usually have 5+ books on my tbr shelf and I just go for the one that’s calling to me.
I used to plan out my monthly tbr list but it just doesn’t work for me.

When I couldn’t decide I read in Alphabetical Order by authors name. I discovered a lot of books I loved this way. Books I would have left for last.

I place few beside one another n then pick whiever calls me more; if that doesn’t work, read a chapter of each n see which excites most, and if that doesn’t work: then ask someone to pick one for me (tough calls all the time ?)
