I liked the latter part of C and P. But overall it was too slow. Also it was a translation, so we missed his original phrases and witticisms. I dont want to read Dostoevsky until my ever mercureal mind takes a sudden decision to read The Brothers Karamozov. Lol. <3 My 2019 reads will be mostly Stephen King and some Mary Westmacott novels. And Arthur Conan Doyle. If I get time, will read Stephen Hawkins.

I have started C and P twice and didnt finish it. Im sure that I am waiting for that perfect time. It just hasnt arrived.

If a book doesnt interest you for the first 25 pages, its not the best reading material.

I wouldn’t say that. I have read many books were the first 50 pages were boring, but the following pages were actually very exciting

Great Question! I’ve read many of his novels and short stories. “The Double” has always been my favorite, but I’ve often wondered if that wasn’t because it was the first work by Dostoyevsky that I dove into. “Notes From The Underground” was also very fascinating to me.
