I am currently reading Way of Kings and I am really coming to enjoy it! I find it difficult to choose which book is the best of the ones I have read so far this year, so I’ll do the best in a few categories.

Best fantasy so far has to be Bands of Mourning (6th Mistborn, Brandon Sanderson), I think. It was captivating from the start, and showed a lot of character development among many of the characters.

Best non-fiction is Sapiens by Yuval Noah-Harrari. It was really very interesting, with a lot of interesting viewpoints and interesting thoughts.

Best YA-book has to be Turtles all the way Down, by John Green. I have been struggling a lot with depression and anxiety for the past half year, and I think it was really interesting to read a book about mental health/illness, knowing that the author himself suffers from OCD. Seeing how the MC described these downward spirals in her thoughtpattern made me recognize and understand my own spiraling thoughts better, and was actually one of the things that made me seek help to get over my anxiety.

Best “cult classic” or drama, in lack of a better category has to be Fahrenheit 451. I am not american, and this I have never had to read it in school, so I figured I’d read it myself. It was very interesting but at the same time very scary, because the problem (screens and screentime) is so contemporary.

Sorry for the long post, but it was difficult to only choose one!

The whole of The Stormlight Archive for sure. I’m just sad that the next book won’t be out for a while. The Gentleman Bastards Series is coming in a close second though.

Assassin’s Apprentice. Not necessarily the best, but it started me down on The Realm of Elderlings series path and now I am on Fool’s Assassin. What a journey!
