“And when we look in through the windows, all we see are shadows. And when we try and listen, all we hear is a whispering. And we cannot understand the whispering, because our minds have been invaded by a war. A war that we have both won and lost. The very worst sort of war. A war that captures dreams and re-dreams them. A war that has made us adore our conquerors and despise ourselves.”
The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy

Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter… It was about a killer on the loose kidnapping and mutilating women. I like who done its but not this kind of stuff however I didn’t know what it was about and read it bc my husband had bought it. He went out of town and I picked it up being home alone bored… I was so freaked out but I had to find out what happened! I slept with the lights on and heard every noise outside all weekend! ?

I can’t recall the author, but it was a long biogrpahy (over 1,500 pages!) of Adolph Hitler. What made it so scary is how the people followed him seemingly without any thought about the ultimate goals he professed.

Don’t feel silly…it’s truthfulness is up for debate and it depends on which side of the “ghosts exist” fence you graze on I guess. I think it was based on a truth and given some padding!

I remember reading The Entity as a teenager and then again about 10 years later and coming away with 2 completely different conclusions at the end. Love how it is written so you never really know!

Pet Semetary by Stephen King… it’s content, the ressurection of something dead, coupled with my horror of burial (cremation for me!)….& In the hands of this author, the idea that maybe this could happen….I read it once, it disturbed me deeply….never again!

There was actually two books. I wont name one of them because it was so serverly messed up. I really wish I hadn’t read it.
First one was by a romance author and he books aren’t intended to be scary but there was a scene where the heroine was buried alive and she was choking and it is a fear of mine and it got very graphic
