Both of those books gave me nightmares!

Merry

Yes! You know it is scary when you are afraid to get out of bed or even let your hand hang over the edge!

The Shining!!! OMG, It got to the point I couldn’t read it alone, I had to read it with my family surrounding me. I was off Stephen King for some time after that.

I’m currently reading Amityville Horror and I had to take a break at chapter 3 because I’m getting creeped out. And I’m hard to scare.

@Andrea Good to hear!! (Uh, not that I want you to be scared lol)

I’ve yet to read a book that really creeped me out…. so maybe I need to give amityville a try. While I did enjoy The Shining…. it didn’t scare me??‍♀️. And I want to be scared by book because I don’t like watching scary movies… can’t handle blood and gore.

It would probably be Pet Cemetery. I was a teen when I read it and I had a light that went out a few times and an attic door in my room that slowly creaked open while I was reading the book.

It is the scariest book I’ve ever read also. I was in New York a few weeks ago and was not too far from Amityville so I drove by the house to gawk!

Cujo by Stephen King. I was about 11, and to this day, 30+ years later, I hate driving on roads with low traffic, I always worry that if the car broke down I would be stranded and no-one would find me…?

The Minds of Billy Milligan was the closest I’ve ever come to a book scaring me… (and not for lack of trying). Best I can say is that it “gave me the chills” but only WHILE reading it.

The Shining was super scary for me! Bird Box really creeped me out too.
