North and South, by Mrs Gaskell. I used to buy my mom Victorian novels for Christmas, but I just now realized that she isn’t reading them, so I’ll stop that.
I recommended Good Omens to my brother. He played a big part in my literary upbringing, reading me Pratchett when I was young. Many years later, I fell in love with Neil Gaiman and thought this collaborative effort was a handy way to return the favour 😀
I’m in the middle of Gravity’s Rainbow and want my family to read it. However my brother is driving me crazy to finish the Malazan which is a series of 4.4 million words. 😀
