I’ve always read. (My mom couldnt tear me away from the bookshelf once I learned to crawl) But the first series I really got into that I remember was the boxcar children. And the magic attic club or something like that where preteen girls dress up in outfits in a neighbor lady’s attic and magically travel to other lands

Magic or Madness from Justine Larbalestine. She’s also wife of Scott Westernfeld, author of the Uglies Series, which was the second series I started reading while the third book of Magic or Madness was in production.

I always had a book when I was in a kid but what really sparked it was when I was in fourth grade and I read an American girl book. I loved it and I was hooked I needed more to fulfill my need. So I started reading more books I’m 29 and I love reading

Dare you to by Katie McGarry
My husband handed it to me randomly in the grocery store and I read The back, it sounded really good. I read it in one sitting. I remember thinking “wow, there has to be more books like this” then I went to Barnes and Noble, found the YA section and it took off from there. That was about 3 years ago?

Berenstein Bears when I was in 5th grade, then Little Critter’s from there I loved reading. My 7th grade teacher Mrs. Naso had read and feed days where we could bring a snack read and tell the class about our books! Best class ever!

I read many books before, but it’s only when I read The Ramses series by Christian Jacq that I understood what not being able to put a book down meant. It’s a romanticized, thrilling version of the Egyptian mythology.

I’ve always read. There wasn’t really one book that got me into it. I think I just had a very encouraging school that gave us mystery book bags in kindergarten that we could take home for a week and read, and there was always a day dedicated to reading where I would bring a blanket with me and lay out in the grass with a book. I was ahead of reading levels for most of elementary school too.

Some of my favorite early series, though, were The Magic Treehouse and Harry Potter series. And then I always loved The Wizard of Oz and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

As soon as I could read, I was truly into it. I can’t remember that far back. The oldest ones I recall are The Little House in the Big Woods; The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe; A Little Princess; The Boxcar Children and the first Felicity book in the American Girls series.
