It varies as to else is going on. Probably about 30.
I did see a chart someone posted where they tracked their reading for 100 days.
I’m going to start one myself.

Average is about a hundred but there are days like this week that I’ve maybe read ten a day. I’m taking tomorrow off and I’ll likely finish two books. So yeah, 100 with wild fluctuations.

100-200 during school breaks. 50-100 when school’s in session.

I actually go by chapters (3-5) or percent of the book (10% if it’s an ebook).

Really depends on how into the book I am, but I’d say 50-60 average.

Depends on the book but over 100

Depends on the number of words per page. I read about 250 wpm, and I read for about 2 hours each day, so that’s roughly 30,000 words each day.

For Don Quixote, the edition I read had about 500 words per page, so it came to roughly 60 pages each day.

The edition of The Green Mile I’m reading however, averages about 300 words per page. As such, I suspect I’ll average 100 pages per day with this book.

Are you reading or scanning?

0
Aaron

Reading? I’m not sure what you mean by scanning.

0
Kathy

Speed reading is often called scanning. Your eyes detect the written word very rapidly, but often without comprehension.

0
Aaron

Ah. 250 wpm is a very standard reading speed for most readers, with the higher end around 400 wpm.

I think “speed reading” is north of 600 wpm. I have a brother-in-law whose goal it was to achieve 1,000 wpm. I don’t know if he ever achieved it.

Depends on the day, the weather, and the book.

Depends on the book, and depends on the day.

I don’t have a set quota. On slow days I try to read at least one chapter. Of course it also depends on chapter length. Other days I don’t stop til I’ve finished the book, whatever it takes.

It varies depending upon my mood, availability of time, the book which I read and my other preoccupations.

I’ve stopped counting the numbers of pages, chapters, books or series I read only to focus on my reading… Indeed, counting and realising I had not read as much as I had intended depressed me… Now, just being able to take some time to read, whether it is 10 or 100 pages, makes me completely happy

True a day without ANY reading is just not right!

1
Chloé

@Deborah Sometimes a busy schedule or extreme tiredness stop me… But I feel I should read more without feeling guilty about how much ?

0
Deborah

@Chloé I get it. I am sometimes too tired from work to do my bedtime read so sad for me!

1
Chloé

@Deborah After a long dry spell without being able to read even a line, I understood I could never be the avid reader I used to be… Baby steps… Maybe some day… That explains why a couple of pages is always better than none for me ??

0
Toni

I read at night, usually until my eyes begin to shut.
