They’re ok, that’s about it, I always thought they were written a bit clunky and the dialogue jarred a bit

I love Milo as a character… haven’t read one in a while but I’ve always enjoyed them.

Have you tried the Lincoln Rhyme series by Jeffrey Deaver?

@Holly yes I love those books! People seem to either love or hate the Kellerman’s books.

@Aileen if you like Deaver you’ll like Kellerman

I’m not keen on his series, can’t remember the characters names, too long drawn out and seem padded, but I enjoy his standalones.

Used to love them, read all of the early ones but then went off them I’m afraid. I prefer his wife’s books. I didn’t like his sons books either.

I have been reading his Alex Delaware books for a number of years. Absolutely love them. I went to a joint book signing in London a long time ago where he appeared with his wife..
His wife , Faye Kellerman writes also; her books have a Jewish background as her chief character is Peter Decker who is married to a Jewish woman.

The Butcher’s Theatre is by far his best. It was written in the 80s. Set in Israel.

@Neil thanks, just read the synopsis on Goodreads, sounds excellent and a bit different as well, will definitely make it my first JK book!

That is my very favourite of his books, I only like his stand alones and this is superb.

Thank you Vicki. It is like it is a different author to the series. The characterisation and description of the different communities are so much better. The plot too is intriguing.

I like Jonathan Kellerman books. Not so keen on his son’s books or his wife, Faye Kellerman’s books. 🙂

I, too, liked the earlier ones better. It may be because after too many books some things become caricatures of their earlier selves. I learn the characters so well that without more emphasis on plot and story, I start getting bored. I think Lawrence Block did a great job of keeping my interest in his Matthew Scudder character because the arc of Scudder was so well done throughout the series. It is something I am starting to make notes about as I write in my own series. It’s the reason I slowly grew less interested in Kellerman’s books for that reason, along with those of Evanovich, Grafton, and others. I still enjoy their books but only if it’s been a while. Then, finding one I haven’t read is like sitting down with an old friend.
