What’s everyone’s favorite Jodi Picoult book if any? Just found her recently by reading the storyteller and I’m currently reading house rules.

None..really dislike; find the writing manipulative.

I don’t read her either. Tried once, but didn’t like it at all. Seemed pretty boring.

1
Jay

@Carol manipulative? How so?

0
Carol

@Jay I felt forced, but shallow & unrealistic emotions; Like that evoking those emotional responses were the author’s purpose; not telling a true (as in real life) fictional story. Hard to explain: I felt “handled” by author.

Jay

@Carol ah ok. ?

My Sister’s Keeper. I bawled my eyes out. Whatever you do, read the book first before watching the movie. They changed the ending in the movie, and in my opinion, botched it. The ending in a the book, took me by complete surprise and made the whole book.
