I always feel that way about the Black Jewels trilogy, even though I’ve read it heaps of times lol. As for books that I read for the first time this year? The Yellow Birds by Kevin Powers was amazing. It’s heavy reading, but it was so good that I kept wrestling with myself to put it down – I’m surprised any housework got done at all to be honest lol ?

Things We Keep by ? Hepworth. Young woman in assisted facility with dementia and new cook whose husband caught cheating with clients money become friends. Throw in “young guy” with dementia and Angus the sexy gardener and there is a very interesting read.
