Oh god, feversong had me straight up ugly crying for almost an hour. I still get teary eyed. “Always the hero, never the sidekick”

1
Sue

@Kimberly I had the same reaction watching the movie, it’s great.

1
Sue

@Joni I was heartbroken about what happen to Dancer and the letter he left for Dani was a dagger in my heart.

The Fate of the Tearling made me sob like a baby ??

0
Reply
Nicole

Oh Morgan me too! I was absolutely wrecked by the Queen of the Tearling series. I LOVED THEM SO MUCH. I still haven’t decided how I felt about how she ended it that way … but I guess the fact that I am still thinking about it years later is saying something.

0
Morgan

I LOVED IT SO MUCH. The ending was depressing af, but I think I enjoyed it because my response was so strong haha. But I still don’t think I could reread it yet ?

1
Joni

That book made me so angry. I LOVED it, until that ending. It was trash and I felt so betrayed. I’m still mad and it’s been over a year hahah

0
Nicole

@Morgan I understand completely. That was my reaction as well. I loved all of those characters so much.

0
Nicole

@Joni aww. Heh. When I first read it, I was furious too. But then I decided I sort of liked that she literally sacrificed her entire life without actually having to die. She gave up everything to save the world, and look how much better the world was, as a result. But I will seriously never ever ever get over Pen and Kelsea. Absolutely destroyed me.

0
Joni

I get it, but it felt like the easy way out. It was building and building, then just everything’s perfect now yayyyy. And yea my baby pen ? I loved him

I saw the time travlers wife as a movie….nope don’t want to read it. I honestly like added an epilogue in my head and made it all better. Little girl learns how to control it goes back and teaches dad so he doesn’t leave and never dies. They live as a happy family the end.

1
Amanda

The second Daughter of Smoke and bones. There’s this one part that when I first read it I instantly started bawling my eyes out. I still cry when I reread it.

Soooo true ..but sometimes it was harder to read about what happend to Warner – I mean: beating your child as a birthday present or hurt his leg and through him into the woods just to see if he makes it – thats just so unbelievably horrible.

Empire of Storms. I wept in public ?
(“Public” here being during a games night at my bf’s house with a bunch of male mutual friends – each and every one of them ignored my quiet crying at the end of the table – it’s so out of character for me that I think it both confused and scared them ?)

1
Kristian

Lol. Ahh I have been there.

1
Kelly

I’m a crier anyway but “the worst” episodes include the following… When I read the His Dark Materials trilogy when I was pregnant, I think I pretty much sobbed and ugly cried through the last half on the final book. I also read the Harry Potter books during that pregnancy and couldn’t talk because I was crying so hard about Dumbledore. Crying in a spa “relaxation lounge” while reading fault in our stars (not strictly fantasy). General crying episodes include… Not strictly YA but Name of the Wind by Pat Rothfuss, ASOIAF (pregnant again – made the food descriptions torture too!). Also on and off throughout the Fairyland series by Cat Valente, particularly books 4 and 5 – she’s my fave and she pretty much opens up my soul and writes in down in the most beautiful way ever.
