Not every book is going to be a killer… I have favorite authors who had some “eh” books in my opinion.. each reads differently

@Heather Her latest wasn’t a fav of mine either. At all! And I’ve read almost all her books. Firefly Lane and follow up Fly Away is a best friend/family story. Nightingale is the best book I’ve read to date for a very different reason. Heavier but so so so rewarding. Start with Nightingale. Don’t give up first 25% or so. You’ll need all that info for later. Let us know if you loved it as much as we all do. ??❤️❤️

The Nightingale is my favorite. I also loved Firefly Lane and it’s sequel Fly Away. Winter Garden, Night Road and Home Front are also excellent. I enjoyed The Great Alone but I know you weren’t too enthusiastic about it. She is one of my favorite authors!

I have no problem trying a book again

@Heather her books are all very different from each other. Check the synopsis of each one to see which appeals to you. I read them as they came out but looking back, each book is its own unique story and may resonate with you depending on your life situation. For example I love The Nightingale because it deals with the Holocaust which is a subject close to my heart. Night Road is about raising teenagers and I read it when I was going through similar issues with my own kids. Firefly Lane is about women’s friendships which is always an emotional topic! Good luck finding the book that speaks to you!

I really think you should give The Great Alone another shot. I’ve read only a couple Kristin Hannah books but it was by far my favorite. I will admit it took a bit to get into but once I hit that spot I couldn’t put it down.

For me, historical fiction is her best genre so I would start with Winter Garden or the Nightingale. Both are excellent books.

I read a few of her earlier books quite a while ago. If I recall correctly they were enjoyable romance novels with elements of suspense. It appears that she has since expanded to literary fiction. Perhaps you would like her early books since they are an easier read.

One of the only books I’ve ever reread! But several years later when the sequel came out I wanted a refresher.
