Stephen King’s short stories
Any compilation with Dickens’ ‘The Signalman’ or any Sherlock Holmes short story collection such as ‘The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes’ or ‘The Return of Sherlock Holmes’, or any Neil Gaiman short stories.
Ive been reading short stories by Jack London, H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allen Poe (my hero), Sheila Finch, and short stories from online publications and in anthology books.
No love lost for novels, but short stories do not get the attention they deserve!

I would say Animal Farm gets to be called a novel or at the very least a novella.

Well my favorite short story is The Last Leaf by O’ Henry. And for collection, it is, Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri.
