Lol I just could not get into it at all. I loved A million little pieces and my friend Leonard

1

I liked those too. I just enjoyed the fast pace in BSM.

0

I think that’s exactly what I didn’t like. I felt like it jumped all over the place and by the time it got back on point to one story my mind was all twisted and stuck in another one lol

Me, Earl and the Dying Girl- just ugh I hated it so much. The main character kept talking about why he was terrible and how stupid everything he did was that it took away from the book and made me bored and annoyed. I actually marked every paragraph I liked which was only like 3-4 paragraphs. I had gotten super pumped for this book too, such a let down.

The Circle. As a book it was fine, it was thought provoking and intriguing, but I was SO annoyed with the main character Mae that it ruined it for me a bit.

Worst? Well, it doesn’t cross my mind…..although there were some I found boring or less enjoyable. For example, I thought ‘The Old Man and the Sea’ unbearably boring. I disliked Twightlight Saga. It got worse and worse.

@Rachel i felt that the relationship was suuuuuper unhealthy most of all. but everything was very melodramatic too, and i felt like even though she was trying to make a commentary on insta-love it utterly failed because the relationship was poorly developed and like, they barely even got to know each other?? so that’s basically the gist of it

The vampire diaries! Worse because I was so excited to read it because I had friends who loved the tv series and I saw the whole series for sale at an op shop for really cheap, so bought all the books only to barely make it through the first few chapters before wanting to gauge my eyes out ugh, there are so many I’ve left dnf though, life’s too short to read bad books but I think that was the one that sticks out the most since so many people love it

I disliked the majority of the Mortal Instruments series. I did read the whole thing, mainly for Magnus, and the sixth book was good, because of who shows up. However, a quote in the first one just stuck with me and ruined it, and I disliked Clary. So much.

2

The quote was “Clary wondered if there were any ugly vampires, or maybe any fat ones. Maybe they didn’t make vampires out of ugly people. Or maybe ugly people just didn’t want to live forever.”

2
Natali

The only reason ACOTAR is so addictive is because the second book is fairy porn. So unless you’re into Tolkein with sex scenes…it’s not the high fantasy book you’re looking for lol. Literary great? No. A fun read? Yup.

2
Sarah

People love hype.

1
Elisa

Natali Drake I didn’t like ACOTAR but liked ACOMAF, and it wasn’t for the sex scenes. I actually quite like the characters and Feyre’s character has quite an interesting evolution through the trilogy. She disagrees with being helpless and comes more into her own.
I think the main reason why people like the trilogy is the fairy tale aspect and the whole bit about of being able to land and “reform” the hot bad boy. Rhysand as a character is quite charming, though a bit too “smooth” for my personal taste ?

2
Natali

@Elisa I’m not going to pretend I liked ACOMAF for anything more than Rhys’ charm and the fun friendship between him and his inner circle lol. I also liked that SJM turned things around with Tamlin and showed him up for the controlling selfish man that he was!

0
Reese

I LOVE ACOTAR! I skipped any scene that was remotely inappropriate. That being said, I skipped quite a lot. I loved the style of her writing, and her compelling characters. It was definitely not anything with what you stated. I’m not mad, just saying my opinion. ?

1

the worst book I ever read was a self-published piece of shit. I knew the author on a fairly personal basis and she asked me to read and review her book. There were grammar errors (no, not typos because no self-respecting human would make those mistakes) on nearly every page, and I swear I’m not exaggerating. There were even mistakes in the dedication and acknowledgments for crying out loud! And supposedly three of her friends edited the book! I emailed her when I was done and was like, “dude I can’t review this because there’s no way I can give you a good rating because of all these mistakes”. I blamed the editors and grammar mistakes although the writing and story itself were far from great as well. I’m pretty sure I lost brain cells reading that “book”. end rant 🙂
