I don’t think so but it was another case of watching the movie without knowing about the book and absolutely adoring the movie and then finding out about the book for me ? But if our tastes are similar, I highly recommend it! (The movie at least since I’ve yet to get to the book :’) )
I’m definitely voting for Shutter Island. That’s the first time I ever had to put a book down & pace back and forth like OMG! I literally was about to start yelling lol
Certain scenes from that book haunt me to this day, and I read it YEARS ago. Part of me wants to re-read, part of me isn’t sure I could handle it again.
The movie was great too & I read the book afterwards because I just KNEW that I was missing something crucial lol nope! Dennis Lehane clearly enjoys messing with people lmao Mystic River was awesome too, book and movie ?
Lol you did better than I did ? I told my husband “this person just asked me if I was bi (as in bisexual) and I’m not sure how to respond…” ? He’s says to me “They are asking who following is ‘by’ as on author ? ” and by then @Natalie had commented ? next time I’m just gonna put the period (.) This way there is no confusion ?
I’ve only read one book so far, but Michael Robotham is one to look into. Say You’re Sorry kept me guessing until the very end and floored me with the revelation.
Oh yes. I found bombproof and that was quite the ride! Could not put the book down. Most of his books are not standalone though it seems. i def’s want to read more of him though cos he is an amazing writer!
No, but they also don’t NEED to be read in order. When I picked up Say You’re Sorry, I was afraid because it wasn’t the first in the series. But really it didn’t matter…plus I want to eventually read them all anyway!
Shutter Island was good
Aww it’s a shame I already watched the movie first 🙁
Aww so you know the twist ? the book is better! Lol Another good one is “And then there was one” by Agatha Christie
I’ve read that one long ago! It’s my favorite of hers ??
I’m 2 for 2 ? our reading tastes must be too similar! Lol
Have you read The Girl with all the Gifts?
No but I will definitely look for a copy! Is it a psych thriller as well?

SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE READING COMMENTS THAT HAVEN’T READ THIS BOOK)

The dollhouse thing was what freaked me out the worst. Honestly one of best, most jaw-dropping moments.
Is it better than Gone Girl?
In my opinion, yes.
I read it a few months ago. The ending was definitely a big wow
in my TBR list
The most recent was Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough.
Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane was quite shocking.
.but if you’ve seen the movie it won’t be lol
Aww I have 🙁
Still a good read though. There’s more content in the book 😉
Also, I’m Thinking of Ending Things. I’m STILL not entirely sure what happened in that book. I have theories, but it is a mindf*ck for sure!

It definitely can mess with your head. I’ve never responded like that to a book before. I didn’t want it to end but I had to know How it ended lol
I’m intrigued! The movie is on my to be watched list but now I HAVE to read the book lol!!

Just finished reading Sharp Objects. It isn’t finished with me, though – very disturbing.
Before I Go To Sleep by S. J. Watson,
Sharp Objects and Dark Places by Gillian Flynn,
Any book by Tana French, Jeffery Deaver, and Joy Fielding.
False memory by Dean Koontz!!
I almost forgot about The Woman in the Window. There are some great twists!
Gone girl is the only one that comes to mind right now. I shall have to hunt down some more of her books…
Oh yes! Loved that plot twist. I am planning on reading Sharp Objects very soon. :3
