I love to read light weight books in between my heavier reads and Alexander McCall Smiths No 1 Ladies detective Agency series is always a goto as Mma Makutsi and her observations and those of her talking shoes always has me in stitches

Ham on Rye by Charles Bukowski. The audiobook is great. It’s very crude and can be offensive, but it’s one of the only books that made me actually laugh.

I would have to agree about “Furiously Happy”. I even tried to read some parts to my husband, I was laughing so hard I was crying, couldn’t finish what I was reading to him – had to hand him the book to read it and then HE was laughing and crying LOL

Any of Chelsea Handler’s books… she gets into these dumb situations but is sooo funny! Also I read aloud to my students (I teach second) and I know they’re kids books but Junie B. Jones and Wayside Stories (by Louis Sachar) has us all rolling with laughter! Best part of our day!!

Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh. This contains the most accurate depiction of depression I’ve ever read, but also hopeful and hilarious. The pictures are worth the price of the book.

My Hilliard line is from NC & south Georgia, then northern Florida (Hilliard, Florida and Jacksonville). Hilliard is a common name in England.
