Aw that is a hard question. I think I read them really differently as a kid. I loved the stand, read it as an adult and hated how it ended but loved it when I was younger. I want to re read them all. King is one of my keeper authors xxx

I love most of Stephen King’s books. If pressed, I’d have to say The Dead Zone. The ending was so emotional, I’ll admit I shed a tear.

The Stand, and The Shining. The shining was the only book made me not want to go to sleep. Those moving topiary animals…. and then my neighbour knocked on the door! After I detatched my fingernails from the ceiling I accepted her invite to go in for a drink, & by the time I got back @ 3am, I didn’t care about being scared.

Do you have the original version of the Stand or the enhanced version (put out much latter than the orig.) . . . . the enhanced version is very very good!

Rachel

This one!

Not sure? I believe this cover (there are many covers with this novel) is the one I read . . . it’s the “uncut edition” . . . 1153 pages. The orig. was approx 800 pgs. I’ve read both, enjoyed both, but liked the uncut version much more.

Think it’s the uncut versio, I’ll try again : )

It’s really a great adventure to read . . . I like your others by SK . . Talisman I read back in late 80s (bout time for a re-read) and The Shining I’ve read 2x . . . would be worth a 3rd time in fact. Pet Semetery was good but sort of creeped me out when I read it in mid 80s, as I had a young son at the time. Now that he’s 37. I should give it another whirl. Pet Semetery was also the very 1st SK novel I ever read, had never heard of him up til 1985 when a friend at work recommended it. Have read about 95% of his novels now.
