Kayleigh

@Di keep entering. I’ve won a few!

1

1
Heather

You can enter thru the app but only when you clicked a link to get there. No giveaways page like on the computer. ??

I’d like to be able to sort my to read list randomly on the app. You can only do it on the website.

I’d like better ways to sort my list of already read books.

What are formats?

0
NamieQuestion author

@Di When you have to pick Paperback, Hardcover, Kindle or eBook. Its annoying and creates confusion if you arent paying attention.

4
Di

@Namie I use the app. I don’t think it is on there.

0
NamieQuestion author

It is. This one I marked from my kindle so it has the right version, but if I had added it from the app and not the kindle it may have picked a different format which would create confusion.

0
Di

This is really interesting, I have never specified a format. I haven’t even seen the option to do so. Could there be different versions of the app. I use an iPad.

0
NamieQuestion author

It’ll pick one for you. If you read on your iPad from the kindle app, for example, and you mark the book as currently reading from inside the kindle app it’ll chose kindle format. If you just search, it picks one randomly. I dont know how it chooses.
For example, I read an ARC and used the app to add it, it chose paperback but I had the kindle version. So it left the kindle version on my TBR file.

0
Di

Namie Book I don’t use the Kindle app very often. I use Kobo.

0
Teri

My Kindle doesn’t do that on Goodreads

Di

I would like half stars. Sometimes a book is worth
3 1/2 stars. I alway round up but I should not have to.

How do you keep track of your books???

1
Penny

I have a book buddy app on my phone and wish lists on Amazon. I really don’t worry about it.

1
Penny

I only used it a short time and realized it wasn’t for me.

1
Sean

Make sure you can’t add multiple copies of the novel. It’s hard to know which one to place review on

Yup. The formats. Which I cant stand.

1
Julia

I was just thinking about rhis the other day…..not see when friends like 50 reviews of the same book! That drives me bananas!

I was going through my TBR list and saw books that were on there that I know I’ve read. The stupid format and those reviews really are annoying.

0
Joey

@Julia — Yes, I agree! Such notifications become overwhelming.
@Joey

Stacey

@Namie I know it’s prob not on the app but on the website there’s a link to check duplicates which shows you when you have something twice (generally one format in read and the other tr)

I should screenshot this and send it to goodreads, see if they can work in this list ASAP ?

The different formats is huge. Like does it make a difference if I want to red the hardback or kindle version?

If I enter a giveaway and it is for a different format then the one I have marked to read – then it adds the 2nd format to my to read list causing duplicates.

The half stars though is my biggest wish list.

Half stars would be incredible helpful.

A book is a book. I can’t imagine anyone needs to know which format they read.

Lately it’s been driving me mad! I have my reading challenge, but it’s only counting books I read on my kindle, that it automatically adds. When I manually add them, they don’t go against my challenge, so my numbers are off. I input manually, fiddle with the dates to see if it will show up, now I just don’t bother. I keep a list on my phone of books read and books to read. Much simpler

NamieQuestion author

As long as the dates mark 2018 it’ll add them. I don’t have you on goodreads so i won’t be able to see your challenge, sometimes it’ll show us an error version and someone else will see the correct number. They have tons of kinks to fix

0
Priscille

well add me gosh dang it!! ?

1

I would add a DNF feature.

The rating system. Don’t like should be 0 stars, and I need a 4.5 star.

I don’t know how it works from a mobile device but from a computer, click on your profile pic, click on “help” in the drop down menu, look for “Contact Us” on the right of the screen.

I don’t know about the mobile apps, but have you ever used the “Settings” tab? I like to see how many pages are in a book, so I have that box checked. One of my book friends likes to number her books so she has that one checked. You can customize it in a lot of different ways. Batch edit is also helpful when you want to move a lot of books. I have a shelf for each month of the current year and in January, I move them all to a “Read in 20xx” shelf. Batch edit sure comes in handy!
