If you have an ereader or ereader app (like kindle or nook), there are free books available on Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Mostly classics or lesser known authors. You can also borrow ebooks from the library. So, there are lots of legitimate ways of getting free books without stealing.

Your public library will have a link to an app on its site. From the app you can use your library card to download both epub books and audio books.
