I had a teacher who was so animated during read aloud time that the book seemed to come alive for me. I wanted to experience that every time I opened a book. Now, as a teacher, I try my best to emulate her.

My dad is a reader. But, I have a hearing loss and wasn’t as cool as the other kids. I could understand books and get into them and loved them. Where as in school I struggled to hear the teachers, so I preferred books over listening to a teacher teach. Books were my escape into a better world.

I use to hate reading. Then one day I picked up “Sex, Murder & a Double Latte” by Kyra Davis. I haven’t been able to stop reading since.

Mine had to start when I was little. I started reading Judy Moody, and I read all of them. I stopped for a while but I had book fever every so often. Recently I started reading Stephen King Mr. Mercedes and I started reading most of IT. I have really enjoyed it. It’s my time..it’s nice to sit down after a long day and enjoy a nice book to relax your thoughts. I also enjoy filling my girlfriend in with the plots and my favorite parts even when she doesn’t want to hear about it ?.
