The thing most people miss about Jane Austen (in general) is that it’s meant to be a satirical commentary on society of that era. So if you take it too seriously, it will not sit well with you.
I just didn’t like how she drones on and on. I didnt like the hype of Mr. Darcy. And I dont like how she used similar last names because that becomes confusing.
Loved it! Read it once, then read the annotated version that gave more insight into society at the time, Austen’s life, the satire she was using, etc. It gave me a greater appreciation for it.
Just wowa and amazing.the way she exposed the realities of the society at that time.the way she makes the characters to get matured slowly.her works makes her amazing.
I am obsessed with it – I have read it a couple of times – although I do find it quite deep to read which is why I prefer the films which I watch over and over – I always wonder why Mary and mr Collins never got together or I always wonder what if mr Bennett had made Lizzie marry mr Collins
I love it, her social commentary is laugh out loud hilarious to me. Also, I find her to be really good at creating drama even though the stakes are small (the happiness of one familiy). It proves it doesn’t always have to be life and death to be dramatic.
I love it too. Jane Austen was the most wonderful observer of human absurdity. Her books are written in a satirical way and as a social commentary. Pride and Prejudice is laugh out loud funny, because of the ridiculous behaviour and speeches of some of her characters, and it is not meant to be taken seriously. Laugh along with her instead!
I like it, though I wish there had been more of Mary.
Liked it a lot
I am not sure why people like it.
not my thing. read it twice &hated it both times.
Glad to know I’m not the only one.
I didn’t necessarily hate it, but I just thought it was a very shallow book. I know Austen was poking fun at society, but it just wasn’t my thing:/
Loathed it.

Similar last names? I don’t see similarities between Bennet, Darcy, Wickham, Lucas, Bingley, Collins…….
Bennet and bingley were used quite a bit and often hot quite annoying.
Couldn’t get through it. Stopped halfway through.
It’s very good book,i loved reading it
I love Pride & Prejudice ❤️
Think I own more editions of it than one person should ? I got a problem. Haha

A true Classic. I re-read it from time to time, just for the sheer pleasure.

Overrated.
it’s good, but not my fave Austen. I prefer Persuasion. And Northanger Abbey is so fun!
I’ve read it twice now and I hated it both times. But my older sister adores it. So, different strokes for different folks.

One of my all time favourite reads
I love Pride and Prejudice, I think it describes this era in a fun and satirical way (don’t miss its humour!)
It is one of my favourites
He has too much pride, she has too much predgice. The version with the zombies was better.
Love it
LOVE
My favorite novel!
Read it three times. (Or was it four?)
It’s good, but I prefer Mansfield Park, P&P’s evil twin.
It’s a chore – I have to read 9 pages each day to be ready for the book club discussion…
It’s one of my favorite books.
