It’s an interesting book. It has a weirdy abrupt ending. I love the movie, but they’re nothing alike.

I really loved it! The story is very well written. The movie is also really pretty!
If you want more of a biography of I’d also recommend “Geisha, a Life” by Mineko Iwasaki.
She also helped on this book, but her own story is beautiful as well.

@Alice I have a hard time with the notion of predestination that I felt was aa large part of the undercurrebt in the book. The film looked stunning though.

I loved it !t was so much better than the movie. You almost couldn’t follow the movie because they left out so much key information. Because of this book, I want to go to Japan and see some “real” kabuki !

It’s one of the best books I have read. It’s beautiful, a geisha itself- the book. The metaphors, descriptions will never bore you! I wish I could come across another book like this..
