When I am having a week I feel my anxiety creeping in I tend to listen to Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. Very character driven and I love the family dynamics

Elizabeth Peters – either the Amelia Peabody series or the Vicky Bliss series. They’re fun and upbeat and always a good laugh.

Something light and happy like Sophie’s Heart by Lori Wick or Bamboo and Lace by Lori Wick. Or the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella is good for lifting your mood.

I tend to go back to my all time favorites mainly Harry Potter. They comfort me when I need it. They are what i grew up and what gave me my strongest love of reading and love of fantasy books. I didn’t need it solidified since I already loved reading and fantasy books, but it’s nice to find that one magic book. (Pun intended).

I read Georgette Heyer’s witty romances. They have a strong heroine, and end well. I also have a book, “Poetry for the Blues”. Or Psalms.

My mother refers to it as ‘bubblegum’. Books that are easy to read without needing to think about it too much. Good children’s books, adventure books, fantasy…
I know I’m in a real emotional hole when Voyage of the Dawn Treader fails to appeal.
