Non fiction. I mostly read biographies, historical books and books about a subject. I like learning and I feel that I get a lot out of reading about those things.
Josie~~Fiction…but I’m trying to read nonfiction. If I read something nonfiction it’s mostly because I need to get informed. Trying to break THAT habit.?
Love both. There are some non-fiction works so good that they read just like fiction. Check out ‘Perfect Storm’, by Sebastian Junger, Isaac’s Storm by Erik Larson, Johnstown flood by David McCullough. Actually, ANY of David McCullough’s books are super.
@Cliff Also the Books of Rutherford. E.G. Paris, London. While they are technically historical fiction, he does stick to historical facts. Any digressions are noted in the back of the book. They are super reads. He has also written many others in this genre but these two are my favorites.
Love both! Think that’s why I enjoy historical fiction; it’s fiction based on facts. In the crime genre, I especially enjoy novels based on real life cases.
I have no preference. I really love both. I go through phases, though, where I get on a topic or subject and I read non-fiction on it for a month or two, then back to fiction. It is a cycle 🙂

I agree non fiction doesnt have to read like a text book. I just read Isaacs Storm and Johnstown Flood .. both good examples
I heartily recommend Johnstown Flood–it was so good!

Got to be fiction for me, reading Is a form of escapism and stepping into another’s shoes for a little while, is good for the soul.
