Find a book that’s completely out of your genre. I was never a fantasy/sci fi person, was in a slump and read Harry Potter and came back. I have also read elementary age group books like Charlie and the chocolate factory or Charlotte’s Web when in a slump and that made me come back as well. I was always a novel person, but then got into psychological thriller but then I was dreaming in psychological thrillers so I’m now reading classics for a bit. Hope you find something that works for you.

Needlepoint. I find while I am working with my hands my mind starts thinking about reading and it helps get my juices flowing.

audiobooks are good, I write, haven’t been in a reading slump or maybe that I just start reading books and they don’t hold my attention so I don’t finish them, just pick up another book, but yet I am buying more books, is that a reading slump?

Re-read an old favourite – it can be very comforting.

It works for me to just leave books well alone for a short while. The bug always comes back.

get shit done around my apartment, lots of things to clean, I have four kids sooo it’s redundant. But anyway, clean up till you are sick of that work and want to read again.

Personally I’ll allow myself to take a break because even if there’s a book out there that I really want to read if I’m not feeling it reading it won’t matter because it wouldn’t have the same impact.

Watch booktubers talk about book?. And it doesnt motivate me to read. I can read for hiurs when not in the house since when im in the house i replace my reading time with internet time. Lol

I still go into shops and buy books, just because I’m in a reading slump doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be adding to my pile.
