The cover always looked like one of those fantasy romance novels so I’ve never picked it up.

Ah, the cover with the Half-Orc looking over his shoulder? Based on a Sons of Anarchy poster I believe, which is where the author picked up a lot of ideas. I think he says the book is D&D meets SoA.

I loved it! Half-Orcs, Orcs, Centaurs, Elves, dark magic and massive wild boars put together in a good story that is grim rather than fantastical, and endearing but in a rough & ready way. I definitely recommend it!

I found it ok – not as good as a lot of the reviews, concept was interesting. 3 out of 5 for me

I’m part way through the audiobook and I like it so far. Very cool to get a view from the half orcs where they aren’t mindless thugs or comic relief. Some frustrating character traits but I’m crossing my fingers that that’s where the character growth will come in!
