Kept for years then when I got Kindle emptied all my bookshelves and gave to charity shop.

Sell some for my animal charities.give to friends . Some i keep. Like my signed copys and proof read ones

I keep the ones I’d read again, the ones with autographs and the ones if my favourite authors (collections). Others I sell online and purchase new ones from the money.

I usually give to my sister if I think she would enjoy we share a similar taste in books, but if not I give to the Cat Protection but if I really loved will keep and reread at a later date before giving it to the CP

Keep and read it again… Can’t give them away… Never could… Younger, my mom tried to register me at the local library… I made them buy the books as soon as I finished them… ???

I pass all unsigned books on to family or friends, don’t see the point in keeping them because I won’t read them again

I keep them if I like them otherwise they go to the charity shop. I used to do a lot of bookcrossing but not so much these days.

I used to keep them all, still have loads of yellowed 70s paperbacks, but I can’t afford to rent an aircraft hangar so now there are occasional culls in aid of charity shops.

If they are not a keeper – and have had to learn to be more ruthless about that – pass them to a charity shop.

I used to keep everything but ran out of space! I now have a lot in my kindle library. Books I usually buy from charity shops just go back when I am finished.

Brother gets them if they’re his taste, otherwise, and after he’s finished, unless they’re special, they go to the cat charity shop!

Unless they’re reference works, or novels I know that I’ll re-read, I pass them on to relatives or charity shops.

It depends. Usually if it’s crime and mystery I pass to friends or give to the charity shop. Some other books I keep. This is also why I like the kindle as I just remove it from the device and keep in the cloud.

We have a village market which I give my books to but I keep some classics or the books which I have specially enjoyed and which my grandchildren may like. I do keep my Christmas books, they’re not going anywhere!

Some I keep, some I give to others then they either pass them on or give to the charity shop and some I give straight to a charity shop. My kindle ones I just delete off the kindle.

All of the above. Give them away if I know someone wants them or to charity shops; have sold at carboot sales and still have a shed-load in boxes and on my shelves.

I keep favourite authors and series I’m going to continue with, often take to charity shop when restocking the tbr pile. I’ve also been getting my Mum hooked on Belinda Bauer novels and take some books in for two ladies at work.

@Daniel yes had Rebus for years but rereading and passing on as with Bob Skinner at the moment DCI Jim Daley and Denzil Meryick are ok as is James Oswald’s Tony McLean. Even some of Stuart Bride’s are for the high jump.

My local library accepts used books. Some they keep & some they’ll sell

I give them to friends when I can. When I can’t, or they suck, I donate then to a local thrift shop

The ones that I really like make it to the bookcase. The rest end up in carrier bags and are given to hospice shops.
