The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry it pretty good, but I think The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared (similar genre) is better.

Splendid suns packs a massive emotional punch whereas Harold is much more subtle in comparison. Also, I don’t think Harold is for everyone whereas if you like the sound of splendid suns you will most likely love the book. So I would try Harold first

Entirely two different reads . Harold is a light read whereas Sun’s heavy . Both fabulous reads. Go by the mood you’re in at the time you want to start.

What mood are you in? A Thousand Splendid Suns will take you on a harrowing, emotional journey. One of the best books I have ever read, but very intense.
