I’m almost done with it. Fantastic writing, but for the first half of the book I found all the characters so unpleasant. I still prefer Bel Canto, but I have to say Commonwealth is growing on me. And the characters, while unpleasant, are super realistic, so….
I loved it but i was in the minority in my book club. I had just spent four years teaching “Heart of Darkness” in AP Lit, so I think that helped it appeal to me
I’m currently reading this and heartily recommend it. It’s a collection of essays on love, writing, friendships and family. She gives great insight into how and why she writes.
I loved it.
Just finished reading it last week, I loved it.
I just checked it out and it sounds interesting. I do like Ann Pratchett.
It was a good book and the first Anne Patchett that I have read. But too depressing.
I love books about families but didn’t think it was depressing.
That is good to know!!! It will be my first and I have no idea what kind of books she writes…
Her books are all quite different.
It’s an excellent book. She called it autobiographical.
Loved it. I like Patchett’s style of writing.
Amazing.
I thought it was a great book
I didn’t care for it.
It was good but not my favorite of hers. I hope you like it!
Excellent!!
Love her as a writer. I can’t always predict what’s going to happen.
I just got it out of the library. I will be reading it this month.
Love, love, love. I think I’m in the minority of people who preferred it to Bel Canto.
Loved Bel Canto!!
I really liked it, too!
Meh.
Very good book
I just started reading it. I’m having a little trouble getting into it…
Not her best
I didn’t like it, but did like others of hers.
I liked it.
that was my first Patchett and it was not for me
Loved it!

Not my favorite Patchett, but it was a good read.
I gave it 4 out of 5 stars on Goodreads.
Very mediocre. She’s a good writer, but it just wasn’t very original or interesting to me.
Do not recommend.
I loved it!
Very different than I expected but in a good way
I truly have no idea what to expect even
I got it out of the bargain bin at Barnes & Noble
I’m kind of excited to read it
Loved it – read it twice.
Loved it!
Liked it a lot!!
I really didn’t like it.
Not so much.
it was “okay” — not great
Hated it

It was great!
It is then one book written by her that I’ve actually enjoyed
Ditto
Love all her books.
